The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture / Tagus Press is a multidisciplinary international studies and outreach unit dedicated to the study of the language, literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Working in close partnership with the Department of Portuguese and the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives, it is the oldest of these units devoted to Portuguese at UMass Dartmouth.

Position Available:  Full-time Portuguese Teacher (effective 8/28/07)

The Hudson Public Schools, an innovative, progressive school district near Boston, seeks a full-time Portuguese teacher for the upcoming school year.   Eligible candidates should be fluent in Portuguese and have some past teaching experience.  Proficiency in an additional language (especially Spanish) and knowledge of the literature of the Portuguese-speaking world are desirable.   This full-time position includes three 90 minute classes a semester of Portuguese from introductory to advanced levels.
