The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture / Tagus Press is a multidisciplinary international studies and outreach unit dedicated to the study of the language, literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Working in close partnership with the Department of Portuguese and the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives, it is the oldest of these units devoted to Portuguese at UMass Dartmouth.

In?s PedrosaThe Department of Portuguese and the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth announce a lecture entitled, “Eternity and Desire: A Talk with Inês Pedrosa.” The lecture will be in the Foster Administration Building, Board of Trustees Room (parking lots 5 & 6), on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 5:00 pm.

Inês Pedrosa is the Director of the Casa Fernando Pessoa in Lisbon and a columnist for the Portuguese weekly, Expresso. She made her literary debut with A Instrução dos Amantes in 1991 and has gone on to publish other novels, collections of short stories, and anthologies. Her latest book, A Eternidade e o Desejo, was published in 2007.
