The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture / Tagus Press is a multidisciplinary international studies and outreach unit dedicated to the study of the language, literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Working in close partnership with the Department of Portuguese and the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives, it is the oldest of these units devoted to Portuguese at UMass Dartmouth.

Ambassador Glivânia de Oliveira has been
Consul-General of Brazil in Boston since
January 2015.

Ambassador Glivânia de Oliveira has been Consul-General of Brazil in Boston since January 2015. Before arriving in Boston, Ambassador de Oliveira served as Chief of Staff for the Vice-Minister of External Relations of Brazil, and before that, was Deputy Chief of Mission at the Brazilian Embassy in Paraguay. In her career, she also served in London, Warsaw and Bissau. She has held positions as Director of the Department of International Organizations, Head of the United Nations Division, Acting Head of the Disarmament and Sensitive Technologies Division, among other activities at the Ministry of External Relations in Brazil. She has extensive experience in international peace and security, peacekeeping operations, United Nations/Security Council Reform and disarmament and sensitive technologies.

Ambassador de Oliveira graduated in Internal Relations from the University of Brasília and holds a Masters Degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a graduate in Diplomacy from the Rio Branco Institute, the Brazilian diplomatic academy affiliated with the Ministry of External Relations of Brazil.
