The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture / Tagus Press is a multidisciplinary international studies and outreach unit dedicated to the study of the language, literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world. Working in close partnership with the Department of Portuguese and the Ferreira-Mendes Portuguese-American Archives, it is the oldest of these units devoted to Portuguese at UMass Dartmouth.

Ambassador Luís Faro Ramos, Camões Institute President
visits the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture

On September 28, 2018, the Center hosted a distinguished guest, Camões Institute President, Ambassador Luís Faro Ramos, who came to UMass Dartmouth for an extended visit, accompanied by the Consul of Portugal in New Bedford, Shelley Pires Tracy.

Ambassador Ramos was greeted at the Center by its acting director, Prof. Anna Klobucka, Tagus Press executive editor, Dr. Mario Pereira, and several students enrolled in MA and PhD programs in Portuguese at UMass Dartmouth.
