$5,000 Gift for UMD Summer Program in Portuguese

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture announces a gift of $5,000 from an anonymous local donor for the 16th Annual Summer Program in Portuguese (July 6-August 6, 2009).

The Program offers intensive courses at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, in addition to a graduate course entitled “Transatlantic Passages in Lusophone Literatures and Cultures.”

The donation is earmarked for scholarships and other expenses related to the program, including the lecture series and concert series.
