SUMMER ABROAD IN LISBON

Study the European Union and its Impact on Portuguese Society, Economy, Politics

Program Dates: June 13- July 12, 2009

Courses

Students enroll in a minimum of two political science courses, or six credits. The language of instruction is English for all courses and there are no prerequisites. Courses are taught by faculty from UMass-Dartmouth & the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (ISEG). There will also be guest lecturers who are experts in their field.

Credits also available at the 200-level for those students taking the program as an elective in the social sciences and for whom 300-level political science credit is not required. For graduate credit requirements, contact Prof. Baum.

The program is sponsored by UMass Dartmouth's Political Science Department, the Office of International Programs, the UMass-Dartmouth Center for Portuguese Studies, and the Instituto Superior e Economia e Gestão, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (ISEG-UTL).

Program Requirements

  • No previous Portuguese language experience required
  • Good academic and social standing, min 2.0 GPA 
  • Application materials completed by deadline of March 3, 2009
